A page, tag, file, rule, or response was actually retrieved.
Transparent by design
What the scan tests—and what it does not claim.
Dealer AI Visibility observes public website evidence. Every score must trace back to something reachable, readable, and reproducible. Missing or unavailable evidence is labeled honestly.
A check the automated run cannot prove remains at zero until external or human evidence is collected.
A failed fetch or provider test is never presented as a negative brand result.
Dealer AEO Audit / 60
Ten dimensions. Thirty documented checks.
This is the original Dealer AEO Audit contract: every check is worth 2 points for Pass, 1 for Partial, and 0 for Fail. A missing, unavailable, or not-yet-verified result never receives estimated credit.
Crawl, files, and schema
- AI crawler access: 3 checks / 6
- llms.txt presence and quality: 2 / 4
- Dealer, vehicle, NAP, and FAQ schema: 4 / 8
Entity and authority
- Entity reinforcement: 3 / 6
- Conversational content: 3 / 6
- Third-party citations: 3 / 6
- Review velocity and breadth: 3 / 6
Answers, pages, and foundation
- Live AI engine spot-check: 4 / 8
- Page-level AEO signals: 3 / 6
- Technical AEO foundation: 2 / 4
Bands: AEO-ready 50–60 · Partially visible 35–49 · Foundation gaps 20–34 · Invisible below 20. Reports remain provisional while checks are not verified.
Live engine evidence
Provider answers count only when they are recorded.
A separate evidence job may query ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude. A result is reportable only when the exact prompt, provider, answer, sources, and timestamp are retained; provider failure leaves the related checks Not verified.
Five visibility levels
- Regional reach
- AI knowledge depth
- Non-brand discovery
- Competitive positioning
- Service reputation
Auditable output
- Exact prompt shown
- Provider and model recorded
- Full bounded answer displayed
- Clickable source URLs retained
- Observation timestamp preserved
No invented certainty
- A current public VIN or stock number is discovered when possible
- Unverified vehicle facts must be labeled “Not verifiable”
- Availability claims without dealer evidence are flagged
- Provider errors are “Unavailable,” never “Not mentioned”
- Results expire as dated observations, not permanent facts
Live provider answers are shown only when the provider returns a recorded response, citations, and timestamp. A provider error is Unavailable, not a negative mention, and website signals are never relabeled as a ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity score.
Evidence boundary
The report separates proof from work still requiring verification.
Public HTML and files can support part of the framework. GBP completeness, directory consistency, press citations, review cadence, platform/WAF rules, Search Console submission, and live AI answers require external or human evidence and are labeled accordingly.
What the free scan can establish
- Whether key public files and page elements are reachable
- Whether dealer, vehicle, FAQ, and review structure is visible in returned HTML
- Whether content supplies direct, current, internally connected answers
- What four live providers returned for a dated 20-question spot check
- Which technical gaps deserve attention first
What requires human verification
- Whether an AI answer is factually and legally acceptable
- Why a source, competitor, or dealer was included or omitted
- JavaScript-rendered evidence and vendor-specific implementation constraints
- Whether inventory, pricing, incentives, and availability remain current
- Prioritization, ownership, remediation, and proof of correction
Reliability rules
Production failures we test against.
The implementation includes automated regression coverage for the behaviors most likely to create misleading reports or security problems.
Exactly 30 stable checks across 10 dimensions
Pass 2, Partial 1, Fail or unverified 0
Open, partial, blocked, and unconfigured robots policies
Direct, www, pointer, and minimal llms.txt discovery
Private-network and metadata URL rejection
Provider quota, authentication, outage, and timeout classification
Real dealership-name matching for live observations
Partial results preserved when a deadline expires
A provider failure must display as Unavailable, never “Not mentioned.” Live results require the exact query, date, provider, response, and citations. Without that evidence, the related live-engine checks remain Not verified and receive zero points.
The original Dealer AEO Audit test framework and Dealer AI Visibility methodology were created by Ariel Coro. Dealer AI Visibility automates the reproducible technical and answer-observation tests and is operated by Dealer Growth Hackers.
